The onion production in Germany takes place in South Hesse where onions are ready for marketing begin July. In Lower Saxonia the main crop are used for long term storage.

Full range of varieties in the tree cooking types for ware potatoes are produced. Varieties for processing are produced in big scale as well.

Vegetables – Fresh from South Hesse
DanSø has a collaboration with the key producer co-operative in South West Germany focused on production and marketing of vegetables.
Main products beside onions are beans, asparagus and strawberries. The production takes place in the Upper Rhine Valley, favourable climate conditions and the advantage of irrigation possibilities.
